It is also placed 1stamongsttheworld¡¯sbestyounguniversities.The School of Humanities and Social Sciences at NTU is inviting applications a full-time Lecturer position in Korean Language in the Centre for Modern Languages.

 

Lecturers in Korean (2 positions)

 

We are seeking an experienced lecturer capable of teaching introductory to advanced Korean to tertiary students. Knowledge of and experience in current trends in second/foreign language teaching methodologies is preferred. Candidates should have proven track-record in designing meaningful application of multimedia course materials and knowledge of new technologies in language instruction. The positions are offered on a three-year renewable contract basis.

 

Selection Criteria:

¡¤ Postgraduate qualification in Korean as a foreign language, Korean Linguistics or in Korean studies


¡¤ Native proficiency in written and spoken Korean


¡¤ Experience and demonstrated excellence in teaching Korean, preferably at tertiary level


¡¤ Experience in developing Korean language materials, including e-learning materials 


¡¤ Experience with multimedia and computer-based instructional technologies


¡¤ Ability to coordinate large courses

¡¤ Good command of English

 

The School currently offers electives in 13 modern languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Singapore Sign Language, Spanish, Thai and Vietnamese) and there are plans to increase the number of languages offered in the Centre. The Centre places great importance on enhancing the intercultural knowledge and skills of the learners as well as their linguistic competence.
